Not much is happening due to the holidays, but here are some quick updates on Android Market, Lenovo and cupcake/master/rc31ish.
Android phone maker Lenovo is restructuring (consolidating) due to the global economic slowdown.
Google has released more information about paid apps, geotargetting and other upcoming changes to the Market. (Summary: Its still early 1st Q for USA/EU, maybe later for others, and someday you will be able to pick countries to sell in.)
Googler JBQ worked before the holiday to get cupcake (their internal perforce tree) merged to master (their external git/repo tree) and while he was successful, it was totally hoarked up for G1/ADP1 platform hackers (didn’t even build). Thats fixed now, it builds – it is still pretty messed up (librild talks to the cell modem, and we don’t have the new binary) but it is progress.
Rumours abound of an rc30 unlock. I can say no more, except that this method is much more releasable than the last one..
Thats all for now.. Happy new year all!
