WITH ADB ….meaning? via usb or wifi? i been reading that with root, adb via wifi is back as default.

tail -c +173 was what worked for me.

I ran tail -c +174 on the file..I renamed it bravo_update.dat and put it on the sd card of the nook..power off….hold down right < and press power on…..it acts same as before stripping the header…says verifying and then reboots so did you leave something out? The file also doesn't extract using tar -zxvf. The md5sum from the op's download DOES match.

To make the rooted 1.5 works, you first need to strip off the first 173 bytes of the attached file (hacked-update-delta-1.5.0.dat), because these bytes are the signature.

After that, the update works!

A warning – from the IRC chat room, this doesn’t appear to be working properly yet: “update doesn’t seem to be working for me (coming from rooted 1.4.0 on old hardware). It says “verifying update” for a few seconds and then reboots without applying.”

So you may wan to hold off on it. The good news is that you can in fact update a Nook that already has the stock 1.5 update. Just revert to 1.0.0 first.
